Unlike the Oscars, not a whole lot will change between now and next month, when the Emmy nominees are announced. So there won’t be any revisions between now and then. We’ll just see what made the cut July 18. Today, … Continue reading

Oscar Guide 2012
Pencils down. The awards are handed out tonight, and that’ll be it. I’ll be live-tweeting, starting around 7:30 CST. But for now, I’ll break down the eight major categories, and give my projections in the remaining sixteen. BEST PICTURE The … Continue reading
Reactionary Tale: Oscar Nominations 2012
Well, well, well. Looks like we’ve got ourselves a horse race now. Nine nominees hit that five percent threshold. Nobody, and I mean nobody, was predicting this. The closest anyone got was Roger Ebert, who guessed there would still be … Continue reading

Reactionary Tale: Grammy Nominations 2012
It really is impossible to predict the Grammys, which is both fascinating and frustrating. For every good step they take, like gushing over Mumford & Sons in consecutive years or giving major nods to Bon Iver; they skip out on … Continue reading
Final Grammy Picks
CBS hosts a nomination concert tonight, and you can expect to be surprised, delighted and outraged when they read the nominees. There’s a big push for Tony Bennett, who’s just going through the motions on his latest album, and he … Continue reading
