Netflix Picks – March 2016

BEST BET – FILM
Finders Keepers (2015) – 3/15
One of 2015’s hidden gems, this doc is about a true story that’s so crazy you might not believe it: A man buys a grill at an auction. Inside is another man’s severed foot. The footless guy tries to get it back, but the owner refuses. It just gets weirder from there, but there’s a lot of humor and insight into (minor) celebrity culture.

BEST BET – TV
Louie (Season 5) – 3/4
This abbreviated run doesn’t have the highs of Louie‘s previous seasons, but no other show on TV would devote an entire episode to Louie’s nightmares or having his brother creatively explain to a car full of 12-year-olds why they had to bail him out of jail. Plus, this may be all the Louie you get for a long, long time, as FX has yet to announce when it will return and Louis CK is busy with his whatever-you-want-to-call-it Horace and Pete.
