Emmy Recap 2011

So that wasn’t that bad, was it? Other than a really weak opening number, especially compared with last year’s “Born to Run” tribute, this was a pretty decent awards show. Much better than this year’s Oscars. It helped that host Jane Lynch was game for just about anything, including several gay jokes that were actually—gasp—funny. There were a few surprises, both pleasant (Friday Night Lights netting two statues) and not (Jim Parsons again? And a stable Charlie Sheen? Lame!). Here’s a quick recap. Of the 24 categories I predicted, I’ll give myself one point for a correct guess and a half-point for ones I guessed as “could win.”
