What I Watched This Week: 12 Jul 2020

NEW SHOWS
Perry Mason – “Chapter Four” (B)
At this point, the show is what it is. I don’t see it suddenly going from good to great. But there’s so little on right now, I’m fine with a handsome, well-acted show with a compelling mystery. There’s still some unpredictability, with one major character death this week, but I’m no longer expecting this to blow my mind.

BINGEING
Search Party – Season 2 (B+ average)
Still excellent, even if its new subplots (particularly involving guest star J. Smith Cameron as a creepy Senate candidate) don’t always make sense. This is a comedy with real consequences for the actions of our quartet, even if some of them are absolutely absurd.
