The Weekender: Hosts with the ‘Most’

Movie of the Week

Muppets Most Wanted*
This self-aware sequel knows its not as good as The Muppets. It doesn’t know it’s about 20 minutes too long. Still, it’s an enjoyable mash-up of a heist and a prison break movie. Plus, there are even more great songs from Bret McKenzie. Read my full review at College Movie Review.

Blu-ray Pick

Mysterious Skin
Mysterious Skin
Although it’s one of the most depressing films you’ll ever see, Mysterious Skin is also one of the most rewarding. It’s a rare show maturity and restraint from the usually irreverent Gregg Araki and one of the best showcases for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s tremendous talent. The subject matter is highly mature, but for the aware and sensitive viewer, Mysterious Skin is one of the great journeys in cinema.
