Across the Universe is the unjustly maligned Beatles musical from 2007. Plot-wise, well, it’s best not to think about it. But Julie Taymor’s direction, and every technical aspect, are top-notch.
But let’s get to the goods: two of 2018’s best movies. One is a horror movie about being uncomfortable around other people while having an identity crisis. The other is Annihilation!

Grace and Frankie is probably winding down, but it’s arguably been Netflix’s most consistent series, with excellent performances from the whole cast.
But it doesn’t hold a candle to Atlanta, the most inventive series on TV. It got even better in Season 2, with frightening trips to the woods, a hilarious shaggy dog story about one man’s quest to get a haircut and a terrifying visit to Teddy Perkins’ house.
